Teeth Cleaning and Whitening
Dental cleaning is the process of cleaning tartar accumulated between teeth and gums. Tartar is formed by the hardening of plaque and minerals over time. In dental cleaning, teeth are cleaned with various hand tools and ultrasonic devices, then brushed with a special paste to remove stains on the tooth surface. If these hardened plaque and minerals are not cleaned, it can cause serious problems such as bone resorption and gum recession.
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment method that we apply to the front surfaces of the teeth in the smile line of patients who are not satisfied with their tooth colour. Whitening gels are applied on the teeth and kept with blue led light. It is applied in several sessions and it is possible to obtain results on the same day. Maximum 3-4 tones is possible to exceed the patient’s tooth colour. Thus, patients can have a more aesthetic and white smile.
Scaling is the process of cleaning the tartar accumulated at the bottom of the teeth and removing tea, coffee and cigarette stains on the tooth surface. Teeth whitening, on the other hand, is the process of lightening the patient’s own tooth color with special medications.
Both procedures can be performed in sessions on the same day.
Both procedures do not require anesthesia. It is possible to apply these procedures without numbing the teeth. If the patient’s pain threshold is low and if he/she wishes, anesthesia can be applied to certain areas.
If regular and correct oral care is performed, it will be sufficient to perform scaling once a year.
Whitening is performed in 2 or 3 sessions depending on the patient’s tooth color. All sessions can be applied on the same day.
It is possible to get a maximum of 2 or 3 tones above the patient’s own tooth color.
